Abstract
The results of a comprehensive study of magnetic refrigerators of the static type (MRST), operating on the Carnot cycle in the temperature range from 1.8 to 4.2 K, are presented. In testing the experimental MRST prototypes higher values of the specific refrigerating capacity have been obtained compared to well-known Soviet and foreign analogs of similar efficiency. The MRST design is promising because of high reliability. The efficiency obtained is relatively low and equals 26 to 30%
