Abstract
This paper describes a time and frequency domain approach for evaluation of impact of a large cyclic load on the Long Island Lighting Company (LILCO) power system. The frequency of the cyclic load had a range of 0.3 to 7.5 Hz, with peak-to-peak power variation as large as 20 MW. The frequency domain analysis revealed system resonances which are responsible for large responses in cases where the frequency of the cyclic load coincided with the resonant frequencies
