Abstract :
The application of distributed generation (DG) tools within good system design offers the potential for significant improvement in the reliability of electric power. The application of these tools also reduces the environmental impact of centralized generation of electricity and the reduction in cost of power distribution. This article reviews the development, energy resources, equipment, standards, and the future of this strategy for electric power delivery.
