Abstract :
A single-chip image sensor for mobile applications is realized in a standard 0.35-μm CMOS technology. The chip includes basic color processing functions of color interpolation, color correction, white balance adjustment, gamma correction, and analog-to-digital conversion. The majority of color signal processing is attained in the analog domain and this enables the implementation of a small and low-power image sensor that provides good image quality with reduced quantization noise. The image sensor consumes less than 20 mW from a 3.3-V supply voltage operating at 30 frames/s.
