Abstract :
In this paper, the development and implementation of digital filters for the incorporation of fine features in time-domain electromagnetic codes is described. Examples are shown for the shielding effectiveness of equipment cabinets with perforated walls with/without printed circuit boards inside. Comparisons with measurements show excellent agreement. This approach results in substantial savings in computational storage, memory and in problem definition. Results were obtained by combining this technique with the transmission-line modeling method, but it can also be used in conjunction with other methods to simulate complex electromagnetic compatibility problems.
