Abstract
Absorption of the 1.34 μm Nd: YAG laser radiation in whole human blood and animal tissues is compared with 1.06, μm Nd: YAG and argon laser radiation. Absorption coefficients are determined and the biomedical utility of the 1.34 μm wavelength is evaluated.
