  • Abstract
    This article reviews the channel access rules that apply in the new unlicensed PCS band. The purpose of this article is to outline the channel access procedures and put them in the context of an operating system. This discussion provides a rationale for the rules and background scenario to aid understanding of the new rules. It should be noted, however, that the discussion in this article is provided for information only and is the viewpoint of the author. For details of compliance and further information and interpretation, readers are advised to consult the latest information from the FCC and the Part 15 rules themselves.
