Abstract
Advancement in computer viruses complexity is a big threat for researchers working in the field of computer virology. The methods and techniques developed cannot assure the complete disinfection and cure, but still lot of efficient methods are developed by researchers. Our proposed technique includes the three test cases that are designed for the identification of metamorphic viruses. First test case contains the combination of static analysis and edit distance approach. Second test case contains static analysis and pairwise alignment. Third test case contains the combination of static analysis, pairwise alignment and edit distance approach. First two test cases describe the extension of similarity analysis with static analysis for identification of metamorphic viruses. Test case third is designed to assure exact detection that leads to detection of metamorphic viruses with very low false positive and false negative rate. Experimental results are obtained to demonstrate that our method is efficient for identification of metamorphic viruses and achieve satisfactory performance.
