Abstract :
The design of LSI/VLSI circuits requires a simple but formalised methodology. This paper outlines a high-level design methodology based on the use of Petri nets. The system is assumed to consist of communicating modules that are synchronised for the purpose of passing data but which otherwise operate concurrently. The description of the net in both graphic and text form is considered.
