Abstract
A brief set of fiber optic connector tests has been performed. This evaluation of connectors is only intended to cover some areas which the authors feel are not adequately covered by tests performed by the manufacturers. The relative costs of the connectors are not considered. Tests included repeatability, thread rotation, transverse stress on the connector assembly, connector tension, vibration, temperature cycling, and bulkhead contamination. Results of the tests are analyzed, and an overall rating is given to the connectors based on these tests
