Abstract :
Japanese use of CADCAM has progressed quickly in the past five years. The majority of the installed base by value still comprises imported turnkey systems. However, the Japanese demand for quality and increased automation means that Japanese companies want more from CADCAM than standard products can offer. In response, Japanese distributors and suppliers have been increasing their share in the current shipments. This paper reviews the Japanese CADCAM market and examines the growing Japanese contributions to the industry.
