A PCB design system using planned auto-routing and search auto-routing techniques

The capabilities of printed circuit board auto-routers can vary considerably, and yet the performance of these systems is not easily measured. This article presents the results of a simple benchmark test on a number of commercially available auto-routers and discusses a novel approach to auto-routing based on an in-house program.
