Abstract :
A suspended plate antenna with a novel offset feeding is presented. Broadband operation is achieved by loading 50 ohm transmission line feed with microstrip loop. An impedance bandwidth of 30% for VSWR<2 is obtained over 1.45 to 2.0 GHz. Finite element simulations have been used in designing and optimizing the antenna.
