Abstract :
This paper presents the development of a Qt application for the AM335x Sitara Starter Kit system (referred in the following as AM335x SK for the sake of notation). The application reads data from the AM335x SK´s accelerometer, displays the three axes acceleration data on a Qt widget and determines the orientation of the AM335x SK (one of the six possible) as a function of the values of the three accelerations. This orientation is displayed in real-time on another Qt widget. Also, the Qt application sends the current orientation of the system to a MSP430G2553 microcontroller via Bluetooth, to be displayed on a 2×16 LCD. For this communication, the Bluetooth module of the AM335x SK is used, while MSP430G2553 is supplied with a HC05 module. Some buttons which allows the starting or the ending of the entire application or only the Bluetooth communication part are included in the window of the Qt application.
