Radiation pattern distortion by sensor booms

The distortion introduced by a sensor boom into the radiation pattern of a satellite-mounted dipole antenna. is studied both experimentally and theoretically. It is shown that the theory developed by Keller and Ahluwalia for diffraction bya thin wire gives good approximation to the measured results.
