Abstract
New strict optical orthogonal codes (SOOCs) are presented, which can possess any number of pulses in each codeword while maintaining the minimum auto- and cross-correlation constraint for incoherent optical processing. The proposed nonconstant-weight SOOCs (NCW-SOOCs) can be used to support data transmissions cost effectively with different quality of services in optical code-division-multiplexing systems. The design of NCW-SOOCs is discussed.
