Abstract :
An indirect adaptive control algorithm combining a quadratic cost measure of the Clarke-Gawthrop type and the classical control strategy of pole placement is presented. It updates the weighting polynomials of the cost function online in such a way that the closed-loop poles are located at prespecified positions. The convergence and stability of the adaptive control algorithm is also given without the assumption that the system is minimum phase
