Abstract :
A method for evaluating coherent CP-FSK receivers electrically is presented and applied in a 2.5 Gbit/s delay-line demodulator receiver. A sensitivity penalty of only 0.4 dB has been achieved for a 27-1 PRBS. The all-electrical measurements are used to analyse the measured performance of the complete optical 2.5 Gbit/s CP-FSK system.
