Abstract :
The identification of unwanted scatterers in a compact range can be achieved through microwave-imaging techniques. It is known that the success of such an approach is determined by the extent to which the level of the incident signal directly from the reflector (main beam) can be reduced relative to those of the unwanted signals. A technique is described to achieve this through spatial translation of a phase probe. It is shown that the technique has advantages over the well known technique of spatial filtering. One-dimensional images showing the location of unwanted scatterers in the particular facility are also presented
