Abstract :
The Kotmale hydropower project is a major component of the massive Mahaweli Ganga development. Adverse geological conditions at the originally planned dam site necessitated a change in the dam´s location, and a comprehensive account of the investigations and project design is presented here, together with details of the main features of the scheme
