Abstract :
The limitations of the current injection technique are described. Time domain steady state simulation of the six pulse AC-DC converter in distribution systems is used as a model to determine those limitations. The simulation is able to operate under balanced or unbalanced circumstances. The time domain steady state simulation shows that the simple current injection technique is not a bad model for harmonic analysis if the converter operates under balanced conditions. If the converter is subject to irregular conditions, however, current injection might be inaccurate
