Abstract
The formula for the spacing between feeding points of the shunt-fed, horizontal, half-wave dipole is obtained. The spacing is found to be a function of radiation resistance and characteristic impedance of the dipole, and of the characteristic impedance of the feeding line. Curves are calculated showing that the assumption of equal dipole and feeder-line characteristic impedance may lead to considerable error in the calculation of the spacing of feeding points.
