Abstract :
Increasingly the position of the engineer, not only as a technically skilled producer but also as an element in a more effectively co-ordinated social system, becomes of major importance and interest. It is accordingly greatly to the benefit of our readers that we present an analysis of this segment of the life of the professional engineer ably prepared by a recent Director of the Institute, who is himself a Vice-President of Sylvania Electric Products, Inc.
