WAVES AND ELECTRONS has invited the Editors of journals in the radio-andelectronic domain to present to its readers their opinions and counsel which, being based on wide experience and detailed knowledge of the field, are of guiding value to engineers. There thus follows a guest editorial by the Editor of Electrical Communication.
