Abstract
This paper considers the effect of magnetic properties of a record wire on the output level and frequency response of a magnetic recording system. The amount of magnetic energy that can be stored at each wavelength determines the voltage output to be expected from a given translating head. Frequency response for a typical record wire is calculated according to derived relations, and compared with experimental data.
