Abstract :
A method is suggested to estimate the local skull resistance function G (¿, o) from surface potential measurements due to a known dipole-like source in the brain. That is, the classical boundary value problem is overspecified by knowledge of both the source and surface potential so that properties of the volume conductor may be estimated. The function G (¿, o) may then be incorporated into various methods to improve spatial resolution so that unknown sources in the brain may be studied in detail.
