Abstract
The scattering characteristics of an E-plane waveguide T-junction with a quarter-wave transformer are systematically analyzed using the overlapping T-block method. The structure of an E-plane waveguide T-junction with a quarter-wave transformer is divided into two overlapping T-blocks. The geometry of a quarter-wave transformer is optimised with a binary genetic algorithm. Numerical computations are performed to illustrate the rate of convergence and accuracy of a series solution.
