Abstract
Several iron alloys intended for use in wide-band transformers were studied from the point of view of core loss and exciting impedance. Techniques for studying these properties are described, using both high-frequency sine-wave and wide-band random-noise excitation. The frequency range of 0.1 to 5 megacycles was covered. Materials investigated include hipersil, monimax, molybdenum permalloy, and B9W4A.
