Abstract
The perturbation introduced by low-loss dielectric materials in a microwave field was assessed through experiment and analysis. The model chosen was that of a plane wave incident at an arbitrary angle upon a rectangular Plexiglas slab of finite width and thickness. It is shown that the perturbation produced by a slab parallel to the direction of propagation is at least as great as the normal incident case. Good agreement between theory and experiment was obtained.
