Abstract :
A modification of the McClellan, Parks and Rabiner approximation program is proposed to design F.I.R. linear phase digital filters with minimum value of the statistical word length of the coefficients. The optimum solution may have an equal ripple statistical word length or not, and can be obtained in both cases by the mentioned program with small modifications.
