Abstract :
The simulation of Cu2ZnSnS4 (CZTS) heterojunction solar cell has been studied using the wxAMPS software. An efficiency of 6.752% was obtained from the simulation with the baseline parameters. Front, back and double (front and back grading) interface grading were applied to the absorber layer of the solar cell in order to optimize the performance characteristics of the CZTS solar cell. The front grading was observed to enhance the performance of the solar cell such that an efficiency of 8.9247% was obtained. It was observed that both back and double interface grading further reduced the efficiency of the solar cell unlike studies on CuInGaSe2.
