Abstract
An algorithm is described for the digital computer determination of cardiac output by the Stewart-Hamilton method. The algorithm is concerned with the choice of a window over which a negative exponential is fitted to the indicator dilution data to eliminate the effects of recirculated indicator. Trials of the algorithm are reported, and it is found to be suitable for clinical use.
