On-Line Acquisition of Pulmonary Gas Exchange Data

This paper describes an automatic system for the minute-to-minute collection of pulmonary gas exchange data which may be used to compute the total minute ventilation, oxygen consumption, carbon dioxide production, and respiratory quotient. The data are available in both analogue and digital format, the latter being suited for immediate digital computer processing.
