Abstract
A method is described for calculating the dipole moments of arbitrarily shaped particles. The method models the particle as being composed of a representative number of macromolecules on a regular three dimensional rectangular grid. The electric and magnetic fields between the molecules excited by an external field are solved for in a self-consistent manner. The constitutive parameters of the particle are included in each macromolecule´s polarizability
