Abstract :
A planar circuit which consists of two rectangular segments with five arbitrary impedance ports in a homogeneous dielectric substrate and arbitrary coupling impedance is analyzed as a 2-D circuit. The task is to find the generalized scattering matrix. The circuit is divided into two rectangular segments. Each segment is solved by a rectangular-patch Green´s function and the two are then connected by K terminals along the common boundary. Fifteen microstrip discontinuities and 26 microstrip planar circuits can be analyzed by this algorithm. The numerical results have been evaluated by different methods
