Abstract
The broadband interference suppression performance of the minimum redundancy array (MRA) used in the linearly constrained minimum variance (LCMV) beamformer is studied in this paper. The ideal continuous-time, infinite-length filter instead of the realistic finite-order digital filter is assumed in the array processor. The expressions of the power spectrum of the beamformer output in different scenarios are derived to compute the mean output power. Several original properties of the performance of the MRA compared with that of the uniform linear array (ULA) are obtained by mathematical proofs and numerical studies.
