Abstract
The attenuation, which a microwave signal of 250-600 MHz undergoes when it traverses a partially ionized gas slab such as air, CO2, and Ar at a gas pressure of 0.5 toff, has been investigated. In addition, the signal loss in the plasma slab magnetized by a static magnetic field of 150 G has been determined. The measured value of plasma magneto-conductivity shows a peak near the cyclotron resonance frequency.
