Abstract :
One way of testing the interleaved forward error correction (FEC) provisions on discrete multitone (DMT) asymmetric digital subscriber line (ADSL) systems, is to observe transmission performance when specific impulse trains are applied as the impairment. This method allows the interleaved FEC to be assessed without access to the symbol stream after the FEC interleaver within the DMT transmitter
