Abstract :
Near-diffraction-limited performance at 1.5 μm of a free-space concave ruled grating demultiplexer for densely-spaced wavelength routed networks is reported. Over the wavelength range of 16 nm (40 channels) and channel spacing of 0.4 nm, the fibre-to-fibre loss was 6-9 dB and channel crosstalk was better than 25 dB
