Abstract :
A waveguide type optical frequency comb (WG-OFC) generator was developed at 1.56 μm wavelength region by utilizing a waveguide type phase modulator. It was confirmed that the envelope of sideband spectra had a width of 2.7 THz and the slope of the envelope profile was 28 dB/THz. The maximum measurable frequency difference, limited by the shot noise, was estimated to be 3.2 THz.
