Abstract :
The fifth International Conference on Electromagnetics, CEM 2004 took place in Stratford-upon-Avon, UK, on 19-22 April, 2004. It brought together the three communities of electromagnetics, antennas and propagation, and the colleagues from the EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) community. From all the conference presentations the Conference Committee selected, after a thorough review process, a number of papers from the original submissions and invited the authors to prepare an enhanced version of their conference contribution for publication in IEE Proceedings. This Special Issue contains 27 papers. The coverage of the topics reflects the scope of the conference itself with both low and high frequency applications including various EMC topics. The purpose of this Special Issue is to reflect on the state of the art in computational electromagnetics. Low frequency problems and their applications, problems associated with antennas and wave propagation as well as the EMC issues are raised. The range of topics covered is broad. The main goal of the conference was to encourage ´networking´.
