Abstract :
We elaborate on a stochastic model of the temporal evolution of polarization-mode dispersion (PMD). The reliability of the model is tested by comparison of theoretical results, obtained in the investigation of the conditional statistics of the PMD vector, with data measured on an installed fiber plant.
