Abstract :
An online surveillance system, PLADIS (PLant data Analysis and Diagnosis Information System), has been developed for nuclear power plants which is capable of early detection of anomalies in the plant and the plant control systems. This system uses high-speed process signal data acquisition and a noise analysis technique, and is designed to monitor the integrity of the plant. The design and functions of the system are described. At present six such systems are in operation in BWR nuclear power plants and have proved efficient in diagnosing plant abnormalities
