Abstract
Neighboring finite-element meshes are coupled using a novel penalty-based technique, enabling a continuous solution across the common interface. The penalty method presented results in an easily solved positive definite problem. A number of electromagnetic problems with displacement are solved, in which the penalty connector outperforms many of the published methods and compares well with the most accurate published methods at a fraction of the cost.
