DVB-T2 field trial and optimized parameters in Thailand

This paper depicts the field trials and result parameters for DVB-T2 in Thailand. For the field trails, we started with the set of parameters which is recommended by the ITU advisor. After monitoring for some period of time, some parameters were adjusted. To evaluate the practical performance of each parameter set, system parameters and received field strength are evaluated in various test sites. In this field trial, signal quality is evaluated by test staffs, and compared among parameter sets. After the optimal parameters were set, the areas of weak received signal were considered. Then some additional transmitted sites are added in some particular locations. Since the trials consider various practical reception environments, the test results can be used as a guideline for implement DVB-T2 networks in Thailand Digital Switchover (DSO).
