Abstract :
This paper presents some anticipated aspects of plug-in electric vehicle (PEV) in a future smart grid based on some results from simulation studies. It is expected that a large number of PEVs will be used in the future. The use of a PEV in the future will involve battery charging, both slow and fast charging. Therefore, charging of many PEVs will affect some grid operations and managements inevitably. Either they are charged at the same time or at different time, some problems show up. The concerned issues are such as capacity, voltage unbalance, daily voltage profile of a distribution feeder, etc. Some simulation results are presented to display the issues. Finally, summary is given.
