Abstract :
This paper presents the history of a professional society, American Institute of Electrical Engineers (AIEE). The institute was formed for the purpose of having a representative at International Electrical Exhibition. This article is a companion piece to the author´s article on the Brokaw Mansion, the home of the Institute of Radio Engineers (IRE) before the 1963 merger. This article is an expanded version of an article that first appeared in the October 2006 issue of the Proceeding of the IEEE
