Abstract :
The role of the electrostatic generator as a particle accelerator in the field of nuclear physics is that of a precision instrument. It is capable of producing scientific data with high voltage accuracy and is, within its limited voltage range, an almost ideal tool for this type of research. The design of the generator, its advantages, limitations, and the auxiliary equipment necessary to make it a tool for nuclear research are discussed. Emphasis has been placed on the function of electronics in this field both in the control and measurement circuits, and in the general problem of the electrostatic generator.
