Abstract
The influence of the radio access network topology on the performance of cellular IP (CIP) is considered in a typical cellular environment. A parameter termed the ´crossover distance´ is defined and adopted to show the effect of the topology on CIP packet loss. Some conclusions are provided on the implementation of CIP in realistic cellular layouts.
