Abstract :
The authors describe a coherent optical transversal filter using silica-based single-mode waveguides. This filter can express arbitrary tap weighting coefficients, including general complex numbers, by coherently combining tapped signals. Experimental results are presented to demonstrate the operating capabilities of the filter for high-speed signal processing.
